The Law of Difference

The Law of Difference Explained:

Genetic science has proven that no two individuals are the same…even identical twins. Of the more than 7 billion human beings that inhabit the earth, every individual has at least one unique difference – their fingerprint. No two are the same.

Imagine if your Creator took the painstaking time to make everyone an original masterpiece and yet
some of us still want to minimize our value and be a counterfeit version of someone else.

Too many days are wasted comparing ourselves to others and wishing to be something that we aren’t.  Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses. It is only when you accept everything that you are – and aren’t –, that you truly succeed.

If you will look down through the annals of history, in every field of human endeavor, truly successful people embraced their difference. They transcended societal norms and blazed trails where no paths had been made.

Within your difference lies your unique gifts. You are uniquely and wondrously made. This means that no one else possesses the ability to impact mankind the way that you have been gifted.

Albert Einstein once stated, “The person who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The person who walks alone is likely to find himself/herself in places no one has ever been before.”

 I remember as an aspiring professional in corporate America; I had a great work ethic and a strong desire to achieve at the highest levels. However, I began to understand that in order to be given access to greater opportunities, I had to “go along, to get along.”  It is commonly known that this means that you conform in order to have acceptance and security.

I recognized, in a short amount of time, that this ordinariness did not become me.  In my book, I call this time in my life, “my oyster experience.” By this I mean, most precious jewels are found buried in the earth; however, pearls are found inside a living creature: an oyster. Pearls are the result of a biological process, which is the oyster’s way of protecting itself from foreign substances. When this happens in nature, an oyster develops a pearl. For me, this meant that I developed a pearl in the form of an entrepreneurial business vision.

Being different and thinking differently makes a person unforgettable. History does not remember the complacent conformist. History honors the unique few who had the courage to walk alone.s
