Gary Hartfield Appointed To Serve On Three Influential Boards 

Tampa, FL – Gary Hartfield was appointed to the following boards: CareerSource Tampa Bay, The Skills Center, and High 5, Inc. (Brandon Sports and Aquatics Center).

As a community representative on these committees, Hartfield will advocate for career planning, community partnership, youth development, and special needs education.

Hartfield is the founder, president, and CEO of six residential group homes throughout Florida and an Adult Day Training Center, delivering personalized and therapeutic health care services for the elderly and developmentally disabled. His business triumphs don’t end there. The serial entrepreneur is also founder and CEO of Serenity Village Insurance & Consulting in Tampa. The company specializes in commercial risk, partnering with hundreds of business owners to deliver the products and solutions that matter most, including liability insurance, workers’ compensation, and auto and property insurance.

Hartfield’s leadership acumen and career efforts have served as an engine for job creation employing more than 100 Floridians across the state through his brands. Serenity Village Insurance has grown to serve more than 1,000 clients in Florida and Georgia since its founding in 2012.

Gary’s key business roles and accomplishments extend to the management of a multimillion dollar budget and financial oversight for the Polk County Opportunity Council where he served as Executive Director; Lead Business Analyst with Hewitt Associates; and Director of Business Development for TMP/Monster Worldwide. Gary’s earlier work in higher education led him to serve as Director of the Florida A&M University College of Engineering Sciences, Technology, and Agriculture’s Academic Support Programs and as Admissions Counselor at Florida Southern College. To honor his work in diversity and multicultural affairs, at the latter institution, Gary was awarded the Carl Brown Fellowship by the National Association of College Admission Counselors. He was likewise bestowed the “Hardest Worker” award by then Florida A&M University President, the late Dr. Frederick Humphries.

Gary’s entrepreneurial energy and penchant for business analysis is grounded by a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of West Florida and an Executive Leadership Certification from Cornell University. Gary earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering Technology from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University. His memoir, Stand, was published in 2015 and is available on Amazon. In 2019, Gary was recognized by Onyx Magazine’s “Black Men Honors ‘Florida’s Most Impactful and Influential Men.’”

Gary Hartfield is founder, president, and CEO of Serenity Village Insurance and Consulting. A member of the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, Gary is a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Leadership Florida – Cornerstone, and the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Alumni Association. He serves as a board member of the Tampa Organization of Black Affairs and New Leaders Council-Tampa Bay. Gary is an entrepreneur, speaker, author, and community advocate for public education, economic development, and the elderly and those living with disabilities. He is the father of three children, Ashley, Imani, and Garrett Hartfield.
